Alien: Romulus: The best Alien film since 1986's "Aliens"

Set between the events of "Alien" and "Aliens," "Alien: Romulus" is an excellent return to form a franchise that has suffered from years of disappointing sequels and spinoffs since 1986. Director Fede Álvarez brings the franchise back to its horror roots by upping the suspense thanks to its excellent storytelling and fantastic visual effects. The film also contains great performances from its ensemble cast, including Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. This movie's criticism is that while good, it feels similar to "Alien" through its storytelling, and it felt a little easy to predict how it would play out. Regardless, "Alien: Romulus" is the best film in the franchise since 1986's "Aliens" thanks to Fede Álvarez's masterful direction, excellent visual effects, and incredible performances from the ensemble cast, particularly Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, and Isabela Merced.
