The tenth film in the long-lasting "Fast and Furious" franchise continues to repeat the same formula that the other previous films have been doing for years while also providing incredible action scenes and a great cast of characters to root for. Justin Lin returns for the fifth time to direct a "Fast and Furious" film that dives deep into the back story and family history of Dominic Toretto and pulls it off with great success. The action sequences are insane and over the top, but considering this is the tenth film in the franchise, the action and stunts have been the main driving force of why we keep coming back to these movies. Vin Diesel returns once again as Dominic Toretto and his crew consisting of Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang, who must stop a criminal played by John Cena. Cena gives an excellent performance as Toretto's criminal brother. Cena's presence is a beautiful addition to the franchise and provides emotional family drama. Still, thanks to Justin Lin's direction, touching themes of family, and great performances by Vin Diesel and John Cena, "F9" is a fun popcorn flick. Even though "F9" may be considered a silly and over-the-top action movie, it's still an excellent way to kick off the summer movie season with brute force.
