Halloween Kills: A fun slasher sequel even if not all the horror elements succeed

The sequel to the 2018 version of “Halloween” continues the story where the last film ended, and what we get is pretty good, even if not all of the successful horror tropes stick the landing. David Gordon Green returns to direct the next installment of the updated “Halloween” series. Despite not offering anything new to the series, Green gives you what you want to see: good performances from the main characters and insane kills by Michael Myers. Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton reprise their roles from the last film and once again deliver great performances. The film also contains incredible easter eggs to the original 1978 classic by bringing back certain characters and the actors that played them back in 1978. Michael Myers is the best thing in the movie because he is a dangerous monster that will kill anybody he comes across and does it all in a gruesome and horrifying way. “Halloween Kills” won’t win everybody over. Still, thanks to David Gordon Green’s good direction, insane kills by Michael Myers, and great performances by Curtis, Greer, Matichak, and Patton, “Halloween Kills” is a film made exclusively for fans of the “Halloween” series. If you take it as a fun film to watch around Halloween, you will have a good time with this movie.
