The latest Disney film based on the famous ride from Disneyland has engaging visuals but doesn’t take full advantage of its overall premise. “Haunted Mansion” feels like going to a museum where you think you will get a good learning experience but come out feeling bored, and the experience feels more like a time waster then what you thought it would be. LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, and Danny DeVito do their best with the material they are given. Regardless, the screenplay doesn’t give them much comedy that these actors are known for, and their character developments are lazily crafted making the audience uninterested in them. “Haunted Mansion” could have been a fun time thanks to its impressive visuals, but its uninteresting story and bland characters turn this film into a boring trip to the museum that offers no thrills and enjoyment.
