Heart of Stone: A spy film that feels like a generic version of James Bond

The newest film from director Tom Harper is a generic spy film featuring a plot from a rejected James Bond screenplay. The action sequences are pretty cool, but its editing and camera techniques are distracting, making the scenes look choppy and uneven. The film contains a ton of predictable twists and story elements that don’t make sense, and you get lost in trying to figure out the tone the film is trying to be. Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan do a decent job in their performances and do their best with the material onscreen. “Heart of Stone” is a generic film that feels like they wrote in the 1990s for James Bond and decided not to make it until a few years later but as a different story, and the result is a film that people will forget the second you are done watching it.
