Serving as a spinoff that inspired the iconic toy from the "Toy Story" series, "Lightyear" is a fun space adventure that also gives us a great look into the legacy of Buzz Lightyear. Taking over Tim Allen's role, Chris Evans gives an excellent performance as Buzz Lightyear. While Tim Allen will remain the definitive Buzz Lightyear, Chris Evans's take on Buzz Lightyear is presented differently. Tim Allen's version of Buzz is viewed as a toy instead of the real thing, and children can use their imagination to take on the character. Peter Sohn gives a hilarious performance as Sox the robot cat, and his chemistry with Buzz Lightyear was so much fun to watch. The supporting cast features great actors performing well in the voice acting department, consisting of Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, Uzo Aduba, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and James Brolin. "Lightyear" is a fun Pixar film that provides a fun and fascinating look at Buzz Lightyear and gives families an exciting space adventure. While this isn't one of the best top-tier Pixar films, "Lightyear" is still an excellent space film thanks to Angus MacLane's superb direction, gorgeous animation, and a fantastic lead performance by Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear.
