Queer: Daniel Craig delivers a fantastic performance in the newest romantic drama

Based on the 1985 novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs, the newest film from director Luca Guadagnino and studio A24 is a pretty good romantic drama that showcases Daniel Craig’s talent in a post-James Bond world. While the film suffers from pacing issues, Director Luca Guadagnino manages to keep the audience engaged in the love story thanks to the chemistry of its two lead actors. Daniel Craig delivers a phenomenal performance as American expat William Lee, who develops a relationship with a man played by Drew Starkey, who also gives an excellent performance in the film. Three years after retiring from his iconic role as James Bond, Daniel Craig completely disappears into the role of William Lee by delivering a gut-wrenching performance that allows him to showcase his skills as a great, versatile actor. Thanks to Luca Guadagnino’s excellent direction and a fantastic performance by Daniel Craig, “Queer” is a great film that establishes Daniel Craig’s skills as a tremendous dramatic actor showing that he isn’t afraid to try new things and produce excellent results in the process.
