Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: A fantastic sequel that is better then the original

The sequel to the 2018 Oscar-winning film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is a worthy follow-up thanks to its compelling story about rewriting your future and going against the story you're forced to follow. The animation is phenomenal, the soundtrack led by Metro Boomin is fantastic, and the easter eggs are amazing, celebrating the legacy of Spider-Man. Shameik Moore reprises his role of Miles Morales, AKA Spider-Man, and delivers a fantastic performance. Hailee Steinfeld returns to the role of Gwen Stacy, AKA Spider-Woman, and performs tremendously. The film also does an excellent job of exploring Gwen Stacy's backstory while showing what she's been up to since the first movie's events, making her a great character to relate to. Other actors that return from the first film to give great performances include Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Greta Lee as Lyla. Despite appearing in a post-credit scene from the previous film, Oscar Isaac makes his first official appearance as Miguel O'Hara, AKA Spider-Man 2099, the leader of the Spider Society, and delivers an excellent performance. Other actors that appear as members of the Spider Society giving great performances in the film as well include Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, AKA Spider-Woman, Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar AKA Spider-Man India, Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown as Spider-Punk, Andy Samberg as Ben Reilly AKA Scarlet Spider, and Amandla Stenberg as Margo Kess AKA Spider-Byte. Jason Schwartzman performs excellently as the main antagonist Dr. Jonathan Ohnn AKA The Spot. "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is a fantastic movie that manages to surpass the original thanks to its excellent screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, beautiful animation, incredible performances by Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jason Schwartzman, and a jaw-dropping ending that should get you excited for "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," which will be arriving into the theater next year.
