Based on the comic book of the same name and a remake of the 1994 film, this latest installment of "The Crow" is a prime example of the phrase "Did anyone ask for this to be remade." Director Rupert Sanders's latest film is a bland eyesore that fails to keep you engaged due to its bland characters, uninteresting story, and filmmaking style, which produces a film that looks misguided and cheap. Bill Skarsgård tries his best in the lead role of Eric Draven, AKA The Crow, taking over for the late Brandon Lee, but his performance comes off as bland and wooden that there is no way to relate to him. It also doesn't help that his chemistry with FKA Twigs isn't very good, making their relationship uninteresting to follow along. Due to Rupert Sanders's misguided direction, lousy storytelling, and a wooden performance by Bill Skarsgård, "The Crow" is an unnecessary remake that is not only dull remake but also fails to understand what made the original a classic within the comic book genre.
