Inspired by classic 70's slasher movies such as "Halloween" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," the newest horror film from director Ti West is an insane and crazy horror film brought to us by the famed studio known as A24. The film is suspenseful, gory, and full of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The ensemble cast consisting of Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Martin Henderson, Kid Cudi, Brittany Snow, and Owen Campbell give great performances. Mia Goth is the standout portraying the protagonist Maxine and antagonist Pearl. "X," while not for everyone," X is a film made for fans of the classic slasher films, particularly "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," which the film pays homage to through its storytelling and atmosphere. Thanks to Ti West's superb direction, suspenseful moments, and a fantastic lead performance by Mia Goth, "X" is A24's best horror film since 2018's "Hereditary." It was announced by Ti West recently that a prequel to this movie titled "Pearl" was filmed in secret and is set to be released soon and after watching "X," I am now intrigued to learn more about how these characters came to be, and I guess we'll have our answer very soon.
